Alan Dever Dutton, age 61 of Caledonia (formerly of Marion) passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 surrounded by family at his residence. Alan was born June 30th, 1961 in Galion, Ohio as the son of Richard and Ruth Ann (Pletcher) Dutton. Mother Ruth Ann survives him in Marion, OH and was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Dick” Dutton on January 15th, 2021. Alan was a 1979 graduate of Marion Harding High School and spent a majority of his working career at International Paper in Delaware, OH as general foreman for nearly 30 years. He then worked at PPG in Delaware, OH for approximately 6 years. Alan loved camping, specifically at Riverbend, for over 10 years. Alan loved family vacations, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge were two of his favorite places to visit. He was a huge OSU football and basketball fan; you could usually catch him watching these games with his late father. He was also a loyal Browns fan. He liked DIY projects, doing all he could to build or fix things with his own two hands. He loved listening to music, but his favorite was Classic Rock. In his spare time, he would look online at classic cars with the dream of one day owning one of his own. Alan was a big man with a big heart; he loved his family and adored his grandkids. His infectious laugh and full-face smile will be greatly missed, along with his joking personality – mocking people seemed to be his specialty. Alan loved going out to eat, enjoying all that was “delicious.” He was also a professional napper and could fall asleep anytime - anywhere. Alan is survived by the love of his life, Lori Cantwell, along with his daughters, Danielle “Dani” Landon, Amanda Saxton and Cassie (Jacob) Hartman - Grandchildren, Kolby Potter, Avery Landon, Jakob Saxton, Rhett Landon, and Lucas Hartman - Sister, Vicki (Jim) Jordan, nephew, Matthew Jordan, niece, Megan (Ramon) Mendoza, great nephew Liam Mendoza.
