Betty J. Lawhun, age 64, of Deltona, FL passed away on Saturday afternoon May 5, 2007
After an extended illness. She was born on December 14, 1942 in Hico, WV, The daughter of the late George and Thelma (Sedlock) Prater. She married the late Samuel R. Lawhun and he preceded her in death on August 29th 2006.. She worked as a teacher for the HeadStart Program in both West Virginia and Florida for many years. She enjoyed shopping, listening to bluegrass, country and gospel music, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel K. Lawhun and his fianc�e, Debbie Doucette, Tommy L. Lawhun and his companion, Karen Shafer, and her daughter, Regina M. Chancey; Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren all of he Deltona area. . Betty is also survived by her loving brother, Samuel "Buddy" Prater of Marion , his children. and her aunt and uncle, Irena and Maitland Prater. Betty also leaves behind her husband's four brothers and four sisters and many nieces and nephews in the Lawhun family. Graveside Services for Betty will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday May 11thth, 2007 in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Thursday between the hours 6 - 8.
