Betty K. Robert age 90 formerly of the Caledonia area passed away Friday afternoon at the Select Specialties Hospital in Columbus. Betty had been residing at the Sterling House in Marion for the past five years. She was born August 18th 1916 in Wooster, the daughter of the late Dwight & Vera (Garrett) Kauffman.. In 1936 she married C. J. Roberts Sr. in Shrieve, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1983. Betty was a graduate of Shrieve High School and Ashland College. She spent most of her career as a teacher in the Mt. Gilead Public Schools teaching sixth graders at Edison Elementary. She was a member of the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church in Caledonia and a fifty five year member of the Deborah - Rebekah Lodge in Caledonia . She also given of her time as a volunteer at Marion General Hospital. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jack and Jean Roberts of Bucyrus and her daughter Marianne Thorpe of Galion. Four Grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for Betty on Monday July 2nd in Iberia Cemetery. Calling Hours will not be observed. Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia is in Charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Consolidated Fire Department.
