Brenda Eileen Rife

Brenda Eileen Rife, age 74 of Caledonia passed away July 13th, 2024 at Marion General Hospital. Born February 19th, 1950 in Emporium Pennsylvania, as the daughter of the late John and Aletha (Britton) Howlett. She was a 1969 River Valley High School graduate. Brenda married the love of her life, Russell Rife November 1, 1969 in Marion, Ohio and he survives her at home. Brenda worked at Red Lobster, where she made many friends and then dedicated 17 years and retired at CCOS. Brenda and Russell often visited Pennsylvania and the Aspens in Colorado to witness the beauty of the changing leaves. Pennsylvania was one of her favorite places to visit to see the foliage. She had a playful spirit and enjoyed her luck at Internet Cafes and Casinos; Red Dragon and Game Stop in Marion were two of her favorites. Brenda cherished spending quality time with her family especially her adored grandchildren. She loved flowers and her love for baking shone through in every cinnamon roll she lovingly prepared, which was her specialty.

Brenda is survived by her loving children; Scott and Troy (Mindy) Rife, her cherished grandchildren; Jonny, Adrian, Faith (John) Endicott, and Laura; great grandchild Emmett, sister Wanda (Norm) Ferrier and many, many nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her brother Craig Howlett and nephew Aaron Howlett. In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no funeral services observed. The family will have a Celebration of Life to honor Brenda July 27th at the community building at the Villas at Center Park, 1480 Center Park Drive from 2-5. All are welcome to attend. The family is requesting memorial contributions to be sent to 1st Consolidated Fire Dept.  in lieu of flowers. Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 305, Caledonia, Ohio 43314. The family would like to thank 1st Consolidated for their assistance and help.
