Carol Ann Scott, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and devoted grandmother, passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on June 29, 1954 in Bucyrus, Ohio, as the daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Hite) Steinhilber. Carol was a proud graduate of River Valley, class of 1972. She married the love of her life Charles Scott on March 6, 1976 and he survives her at home. Carol dedicated many years of her career to serving as a dietary manager at Woodside Village in Mt. Gilead and Tri-Rivers School, where she touched countless lives with her caring disposition and commitment to health and well-being. Her professional life was a testament to her nurturing spirit, but it was in her personal life where her true passions bloomed.
Carol had an exquisite love for nature; she found joy in feeding and watching birds, with cardinals holding a special place in her heart. Her love for flowers and gardening was not just a hobby but a reflection of her vibrant spirit and ability to cultivate beauty in her surroundings. Carol’s home was often filled with the sweet scents of fresh-baked goods, as she took great delight in creating birthday and wedding cakes for her family, each one a product of love carefully crafted.
Family was everything to Carol. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Joseph (Candi) Scott and Jason Scott, and her daughter, Kelly Scott. She also leaves behind her brother, Larry (Deb) Steinhilber, cherished grandchildren; Derrick (Alexis), Aydin (Olivia), Lawyer (Chelsea), Jacob, Hazel, Hope Scott, and Emma (Judson) Gregory along with seven great grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life; their sports, theater and other accomplishments brought her immense joy, and she always made time to cheer them on from the sidelines or in the audience. Family gatherings were a highlight for Carol, as she enjoyed hosting holiday dinners that brought everyone together, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Carol’s life was filled with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering passion for nurturing those around her. Carol was preceded in death by her dear sister, Doris Ann Steinhilber, whose spirit she will forever remain connected to.
As we remember Carol Ann Scott, we celebrate a life rich with love, kindness, and devotion to family. May her spirit continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to cherish every moment and to nurture each other, just as she did so beautifully throughout her life. Visitation for Carol will be April 11th from 11-1 at Wayside Chapel with memorial service to follow at 1:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in Walton Cemetery
