Clyde Henry Chatfield

Clyde Henry Chatfield, age 86 of Caledonia, Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 7th at Marion General Hospital. Clyde was born November 24th, 1936 in Franklin Furnace, Ohio as the son of the late Ernest Alexander and Hattie Mae (Burke) Chatfield. Clyde married the love of his life Katrina “Tina” Ehrhardt February 17, 1960 in South Shore Kentucky and she preceded him in death November 2nd, 1989.  Clyde was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a lifelong member of the Caledonia Church of Christ. Clyde retired from Eaton after 20 years where he was an inspector. He and Tina loved to travel and camp. Some of their favorites stops were Maine and the northwest U.S. He loved to fish, hunt deer, rabbit and squirrel. He loved to be outdoors. In his later years, he went from shooting squirrels to watching them in his neighbor’s yard. After Tina’s passing, he took up motorcycle riding. Clyde was known for his “stories” he liked to tell. Most of all, Clyde was a family man. Clyde is survived by his son; Raymond (Diane) Chatfield, daughters; Tammy Chatfield and Barbara Morris, grandchildren; Erica, Michael, Kaulin, and David, great-grandchildren; Destler, Dean, Vivian, Carter and Temperance and brother; Ralph (Becky) Chatfield. Clyde was preceded in death by his brothers; Jessie and Roy Chatfield and sisters; Elizabeth Poplin and Nettie Brannigan. Friends may call at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M Thursday, November 9th. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home November 10th at 11:00 with David Braxton officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery.
