Dale Burns

Ivan Dale Burns, age 84, of Caledonia, passed away Friday morning November 4th, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Marion. Dale was born in Mt. Gilead on November 4th, 1932 as the son of the late Weldon and Olive (George) Burns. On July 7th, 1962 he married Sandra Lee Barrick. She preceded him in death November 14th, 2014. Dale had been a Sheet Metal Specialist at Perfection - Cobey in Galion until it closed. He then worked at Tri-Rivers Vocational School in Maintenance and later still as a bus attendant for Marca and Marion City Schools. A man of faith Dale had attended Dayspring Wesleyan Church with Sandy and had recently attended the Genesis Fellowship. After raising their family, Sandy and Dale raised Rottweilers and enjoyed several mid 60's Classic Cars. He loved to work and kept busy in whatever they enjoyed doing together, but he always found time for his family. He will be sadly missed by his children, Jeff & Renna Burns of Caledonia, Jennifer & Pat Hogan of Centerburg and Jill Dawson of Marion, He also leaves behind his eight grandchildren, Nicholas Burns, Daniel Burns, Katie Hogan, Shannon Hogan, Kyle Hogan, Emily Tramontana, Allison Tramontana & Jacqueline Dawson. His great grandchildren are Ian Burns, Colton Burns, Liam Burns, Abigail Burns & Tucker Burns. Dale also leaves behind his brothers Elton Burns of Mt. Gilead and Larry Burns of Cardington. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters..
Funeral Services for Ivan Dale Burns will be held on Wednesday November 9th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 until the time of service at 2:00.
