Dale Irey

Dale Eugene Irey, age 83 of Caledonia peacefully passed away August 5th, 2014. He was born in Marion November 9th, 1930 to Curtis and Evana (Messerly) Irey who precede him. Dale lived his entire life in the Caledonia area with fondness for life on the family farm. He enjoyed playing cards, especially solitaire and was active with The Farm Bureau and The Liar's Table of the Camo CafAC. in Caledonia. In failing health for four weeks, Dale was prepared and ready to reunite with the love of his life and mother of his children, Susie (Reed) who passed January 11th, 2011. Remembering Dale as a good father and loving husband are his surviving children, Mike (Michelle) Irey of Caledonia, Jackie Mooney of Marion, Doug (Katrina) Irey of Marion, Lou (Jay) Hildreth of Caledonia, Adam (Rhonda) Irey of LaRue and Pam & Chuck Hall of Marion, grandchildren, Ben, Brandi, Cody, Ashton, Kara, Ryan, Reed, Taylor, Trevor, and 5 great grandchildren. Dale was also preceded in death by one brother Dwight Irey, sister DiAnn Irey and grandchildren Mallory and Chad. With the greatest respect for the sun and rain, Dale was a lover of the land and the crops it produced. A A½ inch of rain at just the right time would cause a grin to appear, tasseling corn or rows of healthy soybeans brought purpose and fulfillment to his 83 years. Friends may call at The Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia Friday, August 8th, 2014 from 11:00 to 1:00. Services will follow at 1:00pm August 8th, 2014 at the funeral home, Pastor Tom Orr officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Heartland Hospice or any other organization in Dale's memory.
