David Edward Becker, age 76, of Mt. Gilead passed away November 5th at his residence. David was born July 25th, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas as the son of the late Charles William and Mary Aileen (Miller) Becker. He married the love of his
life, Alice Brady in Columbus, Ohio, August 18th, 1976 and she survives him at home. David was a corrections officer in Mansfield Correctional (ManCI) and retired after 29 years of service. David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He was proud to serve his country. In his younger years, David enjoyed playing basketball and spear fishing. He also enjoyed jumping from airplanes, riding his Harley and driving his MG. After his retirement, David loved watching sports, he was an avid fan of Ohio State Football. He was a big fan. David loved being outdoors. He kept and maintained an immaculate lawn and loved mowing his lawn. His lawn was as lush and beautiful as the greens on a golf course. Most of all, David loved his family, especially his grandkids. David will be missed by his sons; Michael (Anna) Becker and Brian Becker; seven grandchildren, Colin, Conan, Conor, Cowin, Adrianna, Hunter and Gunner and his four great-grandchildren. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no public services observed.
