Doris Kellogg

Doris Evelyn Schmidt Kellogg, age 87 formerly of Caledonia passed away Saturday morning May 07th, 2011 At Partners of Marion. She was born November 9th, 1923 in Marion as the daughter of the late Frederick & Ruth Merwin Schmidt. In may of 1946 she married Charles W. Kellogg. He preceded her in death on August 7th, 2006. Doris was a graduate of Prospect High School and Marion Secretarial School. She was employed for many years as the secretary at Caledonia Elementary of River Valley Public Schools. She was a member of the Caledonia Mother's Club, the Marion Senior Center, the Pythian Sisters in Caledonia and the Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ. In her free time Doris enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and traveling. Her memory will be cherished by her children; Fred & Karen Kellogg of Caledonia, Rev. Alicia Kellogg of Winthrop, Maine, Ruth & Kent Goodwin of Kimberly, British Columbia, Mary and Dennis Giroux of Grove City, Seven Grandchildren, Treg & Tim Kellogg, Matthew & Jessica Giroux , Christopher & Nicholas Goodwin, Annie McAlpin and seven great grandchildren. One brother, Don Schmidt of Bismarck, ND, and her two sisters, Opal Clutter of Marion and Thelma Jones of Carthage , MO. A funeral service will be held for Doris on Wednesday May 11th at 2:00 on at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Alicia Kellogg officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 until the time of service. Memorial contributions may made to the Marion Senior Center.
