Caledonia - Evelyn Irene Mason age 94 of Caledonia, passed away Saturday morning July 6th 2013 in Marion. She was born August 28thm 1918 in Tully Township as the daughter of the late James C. & Elnora (Stokley) Hummer. Evelyn was a 1936 graduate of Martel High School and of the Marion Beauty College. She was a licensed beautician for over 70 years. Evelyn was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ, a 50 year member of Vera #64 Order of the Eastern Star and the Pythian Sisters, Delaware Temple. She also held membership in the Last Chance Seniors Club of Caledonia. In 1974 Evelyn married Lester Mason in Denver Colorado. He preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her son Dick (Marlene) Mason of Ft. Myers, FL, Her three daughters; Shirley (Tom) McAlister of Ostrander, Donna Kay ( Lloyd) Rankhorn of Mt. Gilead and Betty Lou Baer of Montgomery, TX. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Gibbs. Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 Friday July 12th at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Jon Lanier officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday where the family will receive them from 6 - 8. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 8:00 that evening at the funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Caledonia Church of Christ.
