Leora Ruth Schiefer

Leora R. Schiefer , age 70 of Granville passed away Thursday afternoon Octoner 15th, 2009 at the Arlington Care Center in Newark. Leora was born in Marion County May 12th, 1939 the daughter of the late Harley and Ruth (Simmons) Foos. She was a 1957 graduate of Claridon High School and Ohio State University. She was an elementary school teacher, an office manager for a orthodontist in S.E. Pa., and receptionist - secretary for the A & D Advertising Co in Newark. Leora enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and spending time with her family, especially with her grandson Benjamin. Leora is survived by her husband David, her son Jeffrey & daughter-in-law Rebecca Schiefer or Pennsylvania and her grandson Benjamin. Also surviving are her brothers Kenneth & Lester Foos and sister Mildred Foos, all of Marion, many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Christopher in 1988, her parents, brother Eugene and sister Hazel Hackworth. Funeral Services for Leora will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday October 19th at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home 407 S. Main St. in Caledonia with Pastor Randy Kiel officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 5:00.
