Lillie Long

Lillie M. Long, age 90 of Mt. Gilead, Ohio died September 28, 2021 at the OSU Wexner Center. She was born January 10, 1931 as the daughter of the late Clarence Sr. and Rhoda (Rice) Price. Lillie married Dale Long in Marion, Ohio in 1986 and he survives her at home. She graduated from Martel High School. Lillie worked at North Electric in Galion and Abbott Manufacturing in Iberia. Lillie was a member of the American Legion Post 401, the AMVETS Post 87 and the Eastern Star. Lillie and Dale loved to play golf at Crystal Lake, Valley View and New Winchester. Lillie and Dale did everything together. They never had an argument or a "bad day". They enjoyed watching the deer come up to their property and eat the grape arbors. She loved animals, especially her furkid Raleigh. Lillie is survived by her children, John "J.J." Martin Jr. and Opal Pope, many nieces and nephews and special cousins, Patti (Marvin) Monroe and Elsie Brown. Lillie is preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph "Shorty", Clarence Jr. "Bugs", Richard "Dick", Lowell "Banty", Paul, Carl and Bernard Price and her first husband, John Martin. In keeping with Lillie's wishes, there will be no services observed.
