Marie Barr

Marie Elaine Barr, age 77 of Marion passed away July 3rd at the Kobacker House in Columbus. She was born on December 9th, 1937 as the daughter of the late Charles & Lona (Johnston) Dripps. She married George Barr March 19th, 1955 in Liberty, Indiana and he survives her at home. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and being a vendor at the local Farmer's Markets. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Marion County Republican Party. Marie retired from the Recorders Office and took care of the homestead. Marie was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy (Fred) Anderson. Marie is survived by her children, George Daniel (Lynn) Barr, William Jay (Susan) Barr, Kelly Sue (John) Kingery and Jason Nathaniel (Rachel) Barr. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Robert Ray, Danna Lynn, Hunter Allen , Garrett Scott, Jared Sheldon, Adrianne Lynea and Avery, great grandchild George David , sisters Betty (Mike) LeBouf, Gerry (Mark) Young, Mary (Ray) Hughes and Ruthann Sands, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on July 7th from 12 to 2pm. Graveside services will be officiated by Pastor Ron Douglas at 2:30 at the Caledonia Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kobacker House.
