Marilyn Jane Harris, age 89, born on September 9, 1934, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2024, in Illinois. 

Marilyn will always be remembered for her deep love for her grandchildren and the joy she found in their company. Her warmth and care knew no bounds leaving a lasting imprint on their hearts.

A proud graduate of the Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1952, Marilyn treasured her education and the memories made during her school years. She carried this love for learning throughout her life. She was also a member of the Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Vera Chapter #64.

Marilyn's interests were as varied as they were cherished. She found solace in gardening and loved her flowers. Solving jigsaw puzzles brought her immense joy. The great outdoors held a special place in her heart, where she found peace and tranquility.

In the kitchen, Marilyn's culinary skills were unmatched. Cooking was not just a task for her; it was a form of art through which she expressed her love and care for her family. Her home was always filled with delightful aromas from her delicious meals.

Apart from cooking, Marilyn took pleasure in the simple moments spent playing cards with loved ones. The game of "Hand and Foot" was a favorite pastime that brought laughter and camaraderie into their lives. To the tunes of Ernest Tubb, she swayed with grace, finding comfort in music that touched her soul.

Another one of Marilyn's cherished pastimes was observing the graceful hummingbirds as they flitted around. Their beauty resonated with her gentle nature and brought a sense of wonder to her days.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Harris. They married May 31st, 1952. She now joins her parents Samuel Vaughn Swartz and Arvilla Bernadine (Johns), along with siblings Arnold, Harold, James, Clifford, Cloyd, Boyd, Robert Swartz, Clara Tharp, Florence Owens, Wilda Grimes, and Patsy Smith.

She is survived by a loving family who will dearly miss her presence: Randall (Tuesday) Harris, Kathy (Kim) Mitchell ,Gwendolyn (Carl) Baker ,Judy Ann Powers ,Peggy (Tony) Balduf ,Wendall (Kim) Harris ,Brandi (Sean) Pope, brother; Kenneth Swartz, twin sister;  Mabel Grimes and ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren..

Marilyn Jane Harris will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to have had her touch their lives. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she made this world a better place simply by being in it. In keeping with Marilyn's wishes, there were no public services observed. Marilyn was buried in Iberia Cemetery.
