"Truly Great Friends are Hard to Find, Difficult to Leave & Impossible to Forget". Mary Jo Peterman, age 78 formerly of the Caledonia area, passed away Saturday evening December 28th, 2013 in Kindred Hospital of Central Ohio, Mansfield. She was born in Toledo on April 24th, 1935 and spent most of her childhood in Caledonia. She graduated from Caledonia High School and attended Baldwin Wallace University where she obtained a degree in Music and Education. She was a teacher in the Northmor School system where she taught 4th grade for over twenty years. She was a member of the Marion Salem United Methodist Church where she had served as choir director and had been a member of the Women's Society. She was also a member of the Morrow County Retired Teacher's Association. In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her family with special interests in New England and the Magic Kingdom. When she was at home she would go out of her way to watch an Old Western Movie. But whatever she had to do, she wanted it to be fun or did her best to make it so. On August 2nd 1959 she married Virgil "Bud" Peterman. He passed away on July 9th, 2011.
Mary Jo leaves behind her son Richard Peterman of Caledonia and her daughter Beth Albright of Reynoldsburg. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; April Carollo, Kelly Peterman, Aaron Dalbey and Mary Peterman She will be remembered by her great grandson Corgan Carollo. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her mother Sadie Garber. Funeral services for Mary Jo will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 03rd, 2014 in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Reverend James Van Meter officiating . Internment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 P. M.
