Mildred Virginia Woolum, age 89 formerly of of Martel passed away Friday morning January 15th, 2016 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home in Galion. Mildred was born on August 03, 1926 in Marion as the daughter of the late George & Olah (McClure) Valentine. She was a 1944 graduate of Martel High School. That same year she married William Woolum and he preceded her in death in 1978. Mildred worked as an assembler at Whirlpool in Marion, she was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary in Caledonia. Mildred loved to read and enjoyed riding her bicycle around Martel. Her family was very important to Mildred. She leaves behind her two daughters, Linda (Bill) Jones of Edison and Virginia Barnhart of Galion. Four grandchildren and their spouses ; Roni & Doug Carpenter of Lebanon, Jodi & Mike Jennings of Harrisburg, VA, Crista & Kyle Kitchin of Crestline, Craig & Karen Barnhart of Johnsville. There are six great grandchildren. She leaves behind her sister Gladys (George) Johnson of Marion and two special nieces Marilyn Barler & Carol (Junior) McIe. Mildred was preceded in death by her two sons Terry and Mark Woolum and two brothers Charles and William Valentine. Graveside Funeral Services for Mildred Woolum will be held in Caledonia Cemetery on Monday January 18th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia from 10:00 until time of service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzhiemer's Foundation. .
