Norman Richard Pilkington

Norman Richard Pilkington Jr, age 70 of Caledonia, Ohio passed away on August 4, 2024 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late son of Norman Richard Sr and Betty (Garlick) Pilkington.

On October 24, 2020, Norm and Peggy were married at a serene chapel in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Surrounded by the beauty of autumn, they exchanged vows and pledged their love to each other. To celebrate their marriage, they began a tradition of taking annual trips to Tennessee and Florida to spend time with loved ones and family.

Norm’s love for the lake and his passion for fishing, particularly on his treasured boat, exemplified the joy and fulfillment he found in nature. His camaraderie with his close friend “Paper Boy” during fishing trips created cherished memories along with many other friends and family who went and spent time with him at the lake and on his boat.

He worked for many years with his father at Capital Fire Protection as a pipefitter and was a member of the National Automatic Sprinkler Industry, Union 669. He went to college at Penn State, PA to gain more knowledge of a pipefitter in the sprinkler industry. His service in the Navy and his membership at the American Legion Worchester Post 401 Caledonia, Ohio reflected his dedication to his country and community. Norm was also a member of the Waldo Sportsman Club where he and his son Jason participated in shooting competitions. To pass the time until fishing season started again at Lake Erie, Norm occupied himself with interests and hobbies. He enjoyed watching his western shows on Grit TV, supporting teams like the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, OSU football and the Browns.

Norm was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to many. His life and light will be forever remembered and missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving spouse Peggy (Price) Pilkington, his children Jason (Liz) Pilkington, Scott (Hannah) Price, Chris (Catlin) Fattig, Tracy (Darin) Hess, Tami (Jeff) Ward, grandchildren; Alex, Chloe, Lincoln, Austen, Isaac, Paisley, Kip and Lillian, Great Grandchild Kolsyn, sisters; Jackie (Kenny) Dean, Carol Pilkington, Kim (Bill) Ruck, Deb Siemer, his furbaby Poppy and many nieces and nephews. In this time of loss, they find solace in each other’s comfort and shared memories. Norm was preceded in death by his brother Tod Pilkington.

To honor his service and memory, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Worchester Post 401 Caledonia, Ohio or the American Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life service to honor and remember Norman will take place on September 7th, 2024 at 2:00 pm on the square in Caledonia and the American Legion Worchester Post 401 130 E. Main Street Caledonia, Ohio 43314.
