Paul Criswell

Paul E. Criswell, age 90 of Canaan Township, passed away Monday evening September 21st, in his home , surrounded by his family after a long illness. Paul was born in Marion County on February 19th, 1925 as the son of the late Franklin T. & Iva Irene (Eversole) Criswell. He was a graduate of Waldo High School and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. On December 1st, 1946 Paul married Delores Hamilton - Brown and she survives him at home. Paul worked at many different places throughout his life including driving semi tractor-trailer for C.K. Irey and than at North Electric in Galion until his retirement in 1987. He truly loved farming and worked at it for 60 years. He was also a 50 year member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Caledonia and the Seniors Club in Caledonia. He and Delores traveled extensively throughout their life. They have visited all 50 states, Israel and parts of Europe, but Paul was just as happy spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Linda (Francis) Corbin of Marion, Ron (Sue) Criswell, Larry (Clara) Criswell & Steve (Patty) Criswell, all of Galion. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lorrie (Mark) Isler, RaDenna (Dan) Burkhart, Erik (Shelly) Corbin, Kipp (Christa) Criswell, Kyleigh (Casey) Collins , Danny Criswell, Angela (Mike) Vent, Jennifer (Matt) Capsel, Kevin (Angie) Hendershot, Renee Hendershot, Kaelah Criswell, Briannah (Aleah) Criswell, Step grandchildren, Scott (Becky) Geyer, Missy (Earl) Gadd, Kory (Mari) Knapp, Great Grandchildren Ethan, Alexus, Alana Burkhart, Zachary, Parker Corbin, Brandon Vent, Isabelle Capsel, RJ, Sophia Hendershot. Step Great Grandchildren, Ethan Howard, Jenika, Owen & Nash Geyer. Siblings, Vera Oehler of Prospect, & Charles Criswell of Waldo. Paul was preceded in death by his daughter Connie (Bob Hendershot) John, Richard & Harold Criswell and sisters Peggy Shepard & Esther Combs. Funeral Services for Paul Criswell will be held at 10:30 AM Friday September 25th in Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Johnson officiating. Interment will follow with military honors provided by the Marion Co. Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday where the family will receive them between 5:00 - 8:00. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Memorial United Methodist Church or Hospice of Marion General Hospital.
