Phillip D. Cassell Sr.

Phillip D. Cassell Sr., age 76,  a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2024, at Marion General Hospital. He was born on November 11, 1947 in San Diego, California as the son of the late Donald and Emma (Preston) Cassell.  A proud graduate of Inez High School, Inez, KY class of 1966. He married his beloved spouse Elizabeth Mayfield Miracle June 9, 1996 in Marion, Ohio and she survives him at home. Phillip was also a proud Navy veteran. 

Phillip retired as a truck driver after many years with General Commodities. Phillip's journey through life was marked by dedication his family, intelligent curiosity, and a love for technology. Phillip went on to nurture many passions throughout his life. He had a remarkable talent for building and rebuilding computers, showcasing both his technical skills and his inquisitive nature. This passion for technology extended to his enjoyment of gaming, particularly his fascination with playing World of Warcraft, where he often spent hours immersed in adventure and strategy.   

Beyond the screen, Phillip had a deep appreciation for storytelling and learning, often found enjoying documentaries and paranormal shows that sparked his imagination. His sense of humor and love for classic cinema was evident in his favorite movie, Ghostbusters, which he cherished for its blend of comedy and adventure.

Phillip was also an accomplished woodworker, creating projects that highlighted both his craftsmanship and creativity. His hobbies were complemented by an unwavering devotion to his family and his furkids, especially his beloved dogs, Max and Lira, who were waiting for him at the rainbow bridge. Phillip had a special fondness for his coffee, hot or cold, he loved it all. He also loved working on his Mustang.

Phillip's family includes his children, Phillip Cassell Jr. and Gwendolyn (Charles) Dyer, his siblings: Darrell (Kathy) Cassell, Deborah (Joe) Faber, and Anita (Joe) Conroy and 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Their lives have been enriched by his love, guidance, and unwavering support.

Visitation for Phillip will be held on November 10, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Timson & Melroy located at 407 S. Main St, Caledonia, OH 43314. A memorial service will follow at the same location, starting at 1:00 PM.

Phillip D. Cassell Sr. will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
