Ralph B. Sickmiller

Ralph B. Sickmiller, age 92, Marion, passed away at 5:32 P.M. February 16th, 2008 at Marion General Hospital. Ralph was born near Defiance, Ohioon May 24th, 1915 the son of the late Daniel & Glee (Stevens) Sickmiller. On May 24th 1940 he married the former Mary Grappy and she survives him. Ralph was a Tully Township farmer for many years raising both livestock and crops. After moving to Caledonia Ralph and Mary gained a reputation as furniture restorers. He continued his trade after relocating to Marion in 1989. He was a former Member of the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church and the Community United Methodist Church of Marion. Besides Mary, Ralph is survived by his son and daughter-in-law David & Jean Sickmiller of Marion. Two Grandsons and their wives; Matt & Kristen Sickmiller of Falls Church, VA and Brent & Joy Sickmiller of Marion, His great granddaughter is Adalynne Sickmiller. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Eileen) Sickmiller of Ft. Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by his son Jack in 1971 and five sisters and two brothers. Funeral Services for Ralph will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Wednesday Feb 20th, at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Pastor Randy Kiel officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday where the family will receive them for 6 - 9.
