Robert "Bob" M. Weir, age 77 of Bucyrus passed away October 20, 2021 at Marion General Hospital. Bob was born July 23, 1944 in Marion, Ohio as the son of the late John R. Weir and Doris Frasch. He married the love of his life, Karen Bursby, September 12th, 1986 in Caledonia, Ohio. Bob started his career as an electrician/lineman at age 18, working for Marion Rural Electric, and eventually retiring from Toledo Edison/First Energy. He also farmed for over 25 years. He enjoyed taking the kids along in the tractor with him when they were younger. Bob was a 40+ year member of the Oliver Lodge 447 F & AM of Caledonia, Moose #669, member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 181 and the Sons of the AMVETS Post #27. He was also a member of the Eliminators Car Club of Bucyrus, where he was the proud owner of a 1955 Ford that he loved to work on. In Bob's free time, he enjoyed "Road" Farming, tinkering in the garage, gardening and he loved to watch westerns and old movies. Bob enjoyed socializing and telling stories with his buddies at the "Sunday Morning Liars Club" . But most of all, Bob loved his family and spending time with his grand kids. Bob will be missed by his children, Robert N. (Jana) Weir, John R. Weir, Shaun (Kevin) Teynor, Heather Weir, Tracey (Mike) Crawford and Carmen Leffler, brother Gary (Stella) Weir, sister, Peggy (Ronnie) Shawber, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no public services observed for Bob. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the American Legion Post 181, 123 E. Rensselaer St., Bucyrus on December 11th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the American Legion Post 181.
