Ruth Foos

Ruth Welcome Roberts Foos, age 92 of Caledonia passed away Sunday morning August 14th at home with her family at her bedside. She was born South of Caledonia on April 15th, 1919 as the daughter of the late Wickliffe H. and Totsie Caroline (Miller) Roberts.
On July 31st, 1938 she married Earl Eugene Foos at the Roberts home. He preceded her in death June 6th, 1986. A farm wife and homemaker, she loved to decorate cakes for weddings and special events. She was a life long resident of Caledonia, a graduate of Caledonia High School and for more than eighty years was a member of Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church. Ruth was also a member of Vera Chapter #64 of the Order of the Eastern Star and was Past Matron (2), Past Chief (2) and Secretary of Esther Chapter #90 of the Pythian Sisters in Caledonia. She was also a charter member of the Holiday Home Makers and the Seniors Club of Caledonia. Ruth achieved Seventh Degree Grange and was Past Juvenile Matron of United Grange. She was a Democrat all her life and was very active in all the organizations of which she was a member.
Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Caroline & George Schram and Roberta and David Fischer, all of Caledonia. Her grandchildren are Heidi (Schram) and James Fletcher of Glencoe, Illinois, Melissa (Fischer) & Ray Metzger of Delaware, OH
She is also survived by her great grand daughters: Alyxandra Corbett, Jocelyn Metzger, Vivian & Olivia Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her two brothers: Emmett and Warren Roberts.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Rev. Dr. O. French Ball officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 - 8.
