Sandra L. Smith
Sandra Lee Smtih, age 75 of Caledonia passed away Friday evening May 21st, 2010 at Heartland of Marion after an extended illness. She was born March 18th, 1935 in Lafayette, Indiana the daughter of the late William & Ella (VanTyle) VanArsdall Sandy was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette, IN. and a member of Caledonia American Legion Auxiliary Post 401. She was a waitress at Dick's Diner for many years in Caledonia. In her free time She liked to crochet and loved going to Flea Markets to look for pieces of crackle glass to add to her collection. Sandy is survived her friend and companion of 35 years, Bill Hunt of Caledonia; her sons, Steven (Laura) Smith of Wingate, IN and Larry Smith also of Indiana. She is also survived by her daughter Nancy (Dan) Allen of Indiana. Eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; Jerry (Charlotte) VanArsdall of Caledonia and James Van Arsdall of Worthington. Two Sisters; Kathy Detwiler and Pamela Hale of Marion, Ohio. She will be fondly remembered by Theresa Bowen & Dana, and Randy Hunt & Cheryl. She will also be missed by some very special people in her life; Mary Alice Barby, Larry & Sharon Hunt and Gene & Sarah Hunt.
Funeral Services for Sandy will be held at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday May 25th, 2010 at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Rev. Ryan Strother officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and from 6 until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Consolidated Emergency Squad.
