Shirley French

Shirley May French, age 70, of Marion passed away March 9th, 2021 at her residence. Shirley was born in Essex, Ohio on March 30th, 1950 as the daughter of the late George and Thelma (Mullin) Speakman. Shirley married Roy French February 14th, 2000 and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the YMCA in Marion for many years. Shirley enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her friends and family. Shirley will be missed by her children, Brian Long, Kelly (Kim Kaple) Long, and Jerry Long, step-sons, Doug (Serena) French and Derek French, grandchild, Jamie Long, brother, Steve (Melody) Speakman, sisters, Helen (Steve) Winterrowd, Dorothy (Donald) Wilson, Geogianna George and Carol (Norman) Lewis. Shirley is preceded in death brothers, Jerry, Gerald, Raymond and Robert Speakman, sisters, Delorse Chamberland, Janice Corbin and Rosemary Alderson. Friends may call from 11-12 on Monday, March 15th at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home. Funeral service for Shirley will be held Monday, March 15th at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Kathy Runyon officiating. Interment to follow in Caledonia Cemetery.
