Sylvia M. Lawson, age 85 formerly of Marion, entered into rest Friday August 10th, 2012 in Abbeville, Alabama. Sylvia was born on October 22nd, 1926 in Marion as the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Tyler) Berry, Sr. She was married to the late Robert W. Lawson and he preceded her in death. Sylvia was a 1945 graduate of Cardington High School and Bliss Business College. She worked as a legal Secretary in Ohio and Texas and retired from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners after 17 years of service. In her spare time Sylvia gained quite a reputation for her talents involving crocheting and knitting. Sylvia is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Dan) Skiles of Abbeville, AL. and Aretta Woodroof - Young. Three granddaughters, Tonya Gipson Ashleigh M. Hamilton and Shaina D. Emberton. Five grandsons, Dan (Sarina) Skiles Jr., Trey Hamilton, Wesley (Lesley) Skiles, Steven Skiles and Robert Skiles. Great grandchildren are, Tyler & Austin Chandler, Kayleigh Emberton, Alexis & Aiden Skiles, Haley & Wesley Skiles Jr. She also leaves behind her brother Kenneth (Shirley) Berry of Marion and her sister Delores Price of Martel. She was preceded in death by a son Robert W. Lawson Jr. four brothers and one sister. Funeral Services for Sylvia will be held on Wednesday, August 15th at 11:00 in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Jon Lanier officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00
