Thelma Whaley

Thelma M. Whaley age 101 Formerly of Canaan Township, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning October 29th, 2012 in Mill Creek Nursing Home in Galion. Thelma was born September 13th, 1911 in Galion as the daughter of Phillip W. & Julia E. (Allebeck) Schnegelsberger. On Sept 23rd, 1938 she married Allen R. Whaley. Allen passed away in 1973. Thelma was a Morrow County resident almost all her life. She worked for many years as a beautician and had also worked as a book keeper. She loved her farm and mowing her lawn. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed having visitors join her in singing hymns while she played. She was a stalwart member of the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary for many years. She was also a faithful member of the Chancel Choir for over 40 years. She rarely attended a meeting without her knitting. Thelma will be long remembered by her three nieces and her nephew. She also leaves behind her many special friends and her very special adopted family; John & Cinda Foulkrod and their family. She was preceded in death by Three sisters. Funeral Services for Thelma will be held at 10:3 A.M. on Saturday November 3rd, 2012 at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with the Reverend John Foulkrod Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Memorial United Methodist Church.
