Violet Stafford

Violet L. Stafford, age 95 of Caledonia , passed away Saturday evening January 21st at home. She was born May 1, 1916 in Marion County as the daughter of the late Charles G. and Minnie M. (Klingel) Kaelber. On November 29th, 1934 she married Mahla Stafford and they made a home together for 71 years until his death in 2006. Violet was a 1934 graduate of Caledonia High School where she was known for her skills on the Basketball Court and at the violin. She was a faithful member of the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church, a 60 year member of Vera Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Deborah Rebecca Lodge in Caledonia. Violet & Mahla were longtime members of the Birthday/Breakfast club of the church. Violet was employed as Clerk at the Caledonia Post Office for many years. But above all else she loved everyone of her children and grandchildren individually. She leaves behind her two sons and their wives; Richard & Shirley Stafford of Caledonia, Robert & Helen Stafford of Mequon, WI. Her five grandchildren; Ronda & John Baker of Marion, Randy & Dixie Stafford of Edison, Robin & Jim Ewing of Edison, Sheri & Phil Hughes of Cedarburg, WI and Suanne & Thor Gould of Newport Ritchie, FL. Thirteen great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her only brother Wilford Kaelber.
Funeral Services for Violet will be held at 10:30 A. M. Thursday, January 26th, 2012 in the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. O. French Ball & Pastor Tom Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Wednesday 2:00 - 4::00 and 6:00 until 8:00. Eastern Star Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial United Methodist or the charity of the donor's choice.
