Virgil Hildreth

Virgil Thomas Hildreth, 69, passed away at the home in which he was born July 17, 2008.
Virgil was born May 3, 1939 to the late Logan James and Hulda Anna (Creasap) Hildreth.
In addition to spending time with his family, Virgil enjoyed tractors, farming, boating, fishing, golfing, and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane I. (Cochran) Hildreth, as well as five children; daughter and son-in-law Christine M. and Thomas J. Woodard Jr. of Edison, son Daniel T. Hildreth of Marion, son and daughter-in-law Todd M. and Monica Hildreth of Marion, son and daughter-in-law Keith D. and Renee Hildreth of Caledonia, and daughter Angela R. Lee of Galion. Also surviving are grandchildren Jackie R. and Dannie L. Straw of Marion, Josey T. Woodard of Edison, Abby L. and Zachary M. Hildreth of Marion, Morgan and Mckenna Bilbrey of Marion, and Melanie D. Lee of Galion; great grandchild Emerson Hildreth; brothers and sisters Howard and Judy Hildreth of Caledonia, Carl and Ella (Dutchie) Hildreth of Iberia, and Margie and Wayne Weston of Marion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and Donald Hildreth, sister-in-law Mary Lou Ellison, and great niece Mallory Hildreth.
Friends may call Sunday July 20, 2008 from 5-8 PM at Timson Allen Melroy Funeral Home 407 South Main Street, Caledonia, where services will be held Monday at 1 PM with Pastor Howard Huston officiating. Burial will follow at the Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marion General Hospice or Canaan United Methodist Church.
