Virginia Mae Longacre, 90, formerly of Caledonia, Ohio passed away Friday October 14th 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona where she had been residing with her son. She was born in Shelby Ohio, the only child of the late Harold and Nell Williams. Virginia obtained her Bachelors of Education degree from Ohio Northern University and taught School in the River Valley School District in Marion County, Ohio for 33 years. She loved riding her bicycle around Caledonia, reading, playing the piano and writing letters to family and friends. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cavs fan. Her favorite saying was "I never met anyone I could not talk to". Virginia was a lifelong member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Caledonia American Legion #401 Auxiliary, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Vera Chapter #64 Order of the Eastern Star and a 65 year member of The Memorial United Methodist Church of Caledonia. She leaves behind her son Stan (MaryAnne) Longacre of Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren Adam (Lindzie) Longacre of Louisville, Ohio, Lindsay (Brian) Ferguson of San Clemente, California, and three great grandchildren Vivienne, Lucas and Dylan. The family will be celebrating Virginia's life with a private graveside service in Caledonia Cemetery at a later date.
